About Candida

What Are the Candida, Yeast and Fungus?

In the healthy organism, Candida is harmless yeast that lives in the gastrointestinal tract (including mouth and rectum) on the mucous membranes and skin. When body's ecosystem becomes imbalanced, Candida overgrowth can occur. In many cases, Candida overgrowth is caused by antibiotics, steroids, birth-control pills, estrogen replacement therapy, improper diet, bulimia, chemotherapy, radiation, stress, or alcohol overuse. The most common reasons are the antibiotics and steroids. They wipe out the beneficial bacteria that live in the intestines and feed off of the yeast. This makes it possible for the Candida to multiply in their place. This way body's ecosystem becomes imbalanced and yeast infection runs wild and can attack any organ or system in your body. It acts as an invading parasite that attaches to the walls of your internal organs. A poor diet (refined sugar, dairy products, and fermented foods) and high stress levels keep feeding the yeast overgrowth. Digestion becomes impaired, essential vitamins and minerals are lacking, and healthy cells are not replicated to repair the body.

What are the symptoms of fungal infection?

As it grows, it interferes with digestion, absorption of nutrients, psychological state, etc. When Candida changes from yeast into a fungal form, it puts out over 70 different toxic by-products called "mycotoxins" that weaken your immune system. For example, one of the major mycotoxins is acetaldehyde, which is transformed by the liver to ethanol (alcohol), creating one of the most common symptoms of Candida called "brain fog". As the immune system continues to weaken from yeast overgrowth and its toxic by-products, infections arise and you end up at the doctor's office taking more medications that include antibiotics. This makes the condition even worse. If you don’t stop fungus there, it will grow long roots to make holes in the intestinal lining, which allows fungus to pass through into the bloodstream. This condition is called "leaky gut syndrome". This way, food particles can enter the bloodstream causing new symptoms like food allergies or fragrance sensitiveness. At the same time, Candida attacks the nerves and muscles causing mood swings, muscle tickling and numbness. As the mycotoxins become abundant, they spared to the organs and more serious and chronic conditions develop. Candida is one of the common causes of physical imbalance today.

How to eliminate Candida overgrowth?

Treatment follows by killing the fungus and its toxins. It is killed by taking an antifungal supplement and modifying your diet so that there is nothing for the yeast to feed on. To assist Candida cleansing process, make sure that your elimination pathways such as the colon, liver, kidneys, lymphatic system are open. So it is always good to start treatment with the colon cleansing and parasite cleansing, and continue with the liver and kidney cleansing. As you cleanse the blood and lymph system, you should do the heavy metals cleanse. On numerous occasions, I have heard that if you have done the heavy metal cleanse, the Candida cleanse will work quicker and more efficient.

If you feel you need to start taking antifungal as soon as possible, at least do the colon cleansing and drink daily two cups of red clover tea to help liver, kidneys and blood release the toxins.

What is Candida diet?

If you want to get rid of Candida, you need to make dietary changes. All sugars, dairy products, refined carbohydrates, yeast products and wheat need to be eliminated for as long as you take the antifungal. Mild cases of Candida overgrowth usually take about three months to feel the benefits.

What are the signs that the Candida cleansing is working?

Food elimination and taking an antifungal can create many aches: flu-like symptoms, headaches, muscle pain, abdominal distress, acne, etc. If they are too intense, decrease your dosage of the antifungal and increase it slowly as you feel you can handle it. You will feel worse before you start feeling better. After a week or two, the aches will pass.

What to do after Candida cleansing?

It is important to do Candida cleanse once or twice a year and take an herbal antifungal compound (Candida Cleanse) when you travel to the foreign regions. Candida overgrowth can come back even more virulent if not kept in check. Another smart thing to do is to stay on probiotic formula to maintain numbers of good bacteria in your intestines.
